Violet Wang
Violet Wang (Assistant Composer & Pianist) is a Taiwanese multi-disciplinary performer, music director, and educator. Classically trained in cello and piano, she dedicates herself to reaching beyond the traditional and committing to the creation of art across genres. Most recently she is the Music Director for the Drama Desk nominated indie-rock musical Lizard Boy with SpeakEasy Stage Company at the Calderwood.
She is currently on faculty as a Music Director and Pianist at Circle in the Square Theatre School, where she recently served as the Music Director for the Emerging Writers Residency presented at the Circle mainstage, as well as at the Green Room 42. Other recent music direction credits include Something Rotten, Urinetown and A Little Night Music. She has also held pianist positions at the Jen Waldman Studio, NYU Tisch (New Studio on Broadway), Barnard College, and IAMT (Institute for American Musical Theatre). wangviolet.com
