AJ Helman*

AJ Helman, they/them/theirs (Community Connectivity Dramaturg) is an artist, theatermaker, and teacher residing in Boston, Massachusetts after graduating from Emerson College in 2020 with a BFA in Theater Education and Performance. Previous acting credits include: Hank/Hannah in the world premiere of Will Arbery’s Claustrophile, Lilith in Together With Their Families, and Phoebe in both the film and podcast versions of Ratio. Previous sound design and dramaturgy credits include: Home: Unknown, Phoenix: A Box Play, Baby Shower, and She Kills Monsters. Film credits include: Spirited, AppleTV (Set PA) and Ratio, EIV (SPFX Makeup).  AJ is a proud member of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s Group Effort Initiative, an initiative that works to increase the representation of marginalized voices behind the camera. They are also a facilitator for Gender Explosion, which works to create safer environments for trans and nonbinary theater artists in New York and Boston. In addition to working as a freelance artist, AJ is the Operations and Development Coordinator at Central Square Theater. This is their first time working at CST in their capacity as an artist and they could not be more thrilled!
