Andrea Sofia Sala
Andrea Sofia Sala, she/her/hers (Lighting Designer) was born in San Antonio, Texas, but grew up in Northern Mexico. She then moved up north to snowy Massachusetts to get her BFA in Lighting Design and minor in Engineering Sciences, specializing in electrical engineering from Boston University. She has had the privilege to work with incredible institutions including: Central Square Theater, Fresh Ink Theater Co., Free Soil Arts Collective, Bard College, and The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. As much as she loves doing theater, Andrea’s real passion is in dance, working with companies like Dance Theater of Harlem, Urban Bush Women, Jacob’s Pillow, The Yard, and local dance artists at the Boston Center for the Arts. She is also performs in the Boston dance community. In these trying times, she hopes to find opportunities to think unconventionally while uplifting the voices of those unseen, and work with people determined to do the same.
