John R. Malinowski
John R. Malinowski has designed lighting for over a dozen productions at Central Square Theater. He is the Resident Designer for The Nora Theatre where he recently designed Saving Kitty, Emilie, and Operation Epsilon. Other CST credits include Bedlam’s Saint Joan, Hysteria, Silver Spoon, Cherry Orchard, Not Enough Air, The Caretaker, and Photograph 51. Elsewhere, he has designed Rent, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Pillowman, Exits and Entrances, Bakersfield Mist (New Rep); Working, City of Angels, The Chosen, Animal Crackers, Temperamentals (Lyric Stage); Hamlet, Cherry Orchard, and Midsummer Nights Dream (ASP). He is the resident lighting designer at Harbor Stage Co. Awards and recognitions include Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Lighting (1996), NEA/TCG Fellowship (2000), 3 IRNE Awards for Lighting, and a Tennessean Award for Lighting Cyrano. John has taught lighting design at Brandeis, Suffolk, and Northeastern Universities.
