Central Square Theater is proud to announce that it is one of thirty-six organizations across the state to receive awards in the second round of Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund grants. On receiving news of the award, Central Square Theater Executive Director Catherine Carr Kelly said: "With this grant we are a significant step closer to reaching our goal for the capital campaign and opening the doors of the new Central Square Theater. We are proud to be recognized by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Mass Development as a project that will bring significant economic impact to Central Square, Cambridge and will make valuable contributions to the arts in Massachusetts."The most recent round of Cultural Facilities awards, announced in February of 2008 and ranging from $4,500 to $632,000 are to support cultural organizations with building projects that increase tourism, create new jobs, and expand arts and cultural activities in communities across the state. |
