Cynthia Woo (she/her) is the Director of Pao Arts Center of Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center. Cynthia has been the inaugural Pao Arts Center Director at BCNC since Jan 2017. She has more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit arts and arts education sector. Prior to joining the staff at BCNC, Cynthia worked at the Chinese American Museum of Los Angeles, LynnArts Inc, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Boston Center for the Arts.

Susan Chinsen
Susan Chinsen (she/they) is a Creative Producer at ArtsEmerson. She established the annual Boston Asian American Film Festival in 2008, where she continues as the Festival Director. Previously, she managed the Chinese Historical Society of New England, and was an engagement consultant for the PBS documentary ‘The Chinese Exclusion Act’, and ‘Plague at the Golden Gate’; building upon her community work and past experience working at GBH. She is on the Board of Directors at South Cove Community Health Center, MASS Creative, and a Steering Committee member of the API Arts Network.

A 1.5-generation immigrant originally from Jilin City, China, Alison Yueming Qu (she/they) is an Actor, Director, Dramaturg, and Creative Engagement Producer. Alison is Co-Founder & Executive Director of CHUANG Stage—the first Mandarin bilingual, bicultural 501(c)3 theater collective nationwide based in Boston, MA, and produces programs for both local and global audiences. Their recent artistic endeavors include Young Nerds of Color (Central Square Theater), Shrike (Fresh Ink Theater), We & Other Queer Goddexxes (Company One), workshop reading of Ascend! by Amy Zhang (The Tank, 2021 NY City Artists Crops grant), Earthquake by Tatyana Emery (Reground Theater Collective), Waiting for Kim Lee by Vivian Liu-Somers (Asian American Theater Artists of Boston). They have also worked closely with Pao Arts Center, Asian American Playwrights Collective, MIT Music & Theater Arts, TC Squared Theater Company, ArtsEmerson, Ping Pong Productions and more. Currently, Alison is the Associate Producer of HowlRound Theatre Commons, a free and open platform for theatremakers worldwide. Alison is a recipient of the TBF Live Arts Boston grant, National New Play Network Collaboration Grant, National Arts Strategies New England Creative Community Fellow, and a steering committee member of API Arts Network. Alison graduated from Emerson College with a BFA in Theatre (Directing and Dramaturgy).

Sarah Shin is a Korean American actor/director/producer theatremaker. She is the Co-Founding Artistic Producer of Asian American Theatre Artists of Boston, which seeks to empower and connect Asian American, Pacific Islander American, MENA American, and Kanaka Maoli theatre artists in the Greater Boston Area through social gatherings, physical and virtual! Currently AATAB has launched AATAB Online, a Virtual Reading Series through Zoom and Facebook. Some past partners include API Arts Network, Pao Arts Center, Asian American Playwrights Collective, Company One Theatre, American Repertory Theater, and the Boston Asian American Film Festival. Sarah’s recent performing credits include “The Three Musketeers (Greater Boston Stage Co./Front Porch Arts Collective), “Something Else: A Love Cycle (BU STAMP)” and “Runaways (BU).” Other Production credits include “Endlings (Assistant Director, NYTW),” “Moby Dick (Choreography Assistant, ART),” “Amputees (Director, BU),” and “Asiamnesia (Director, Brandeis University).” Sarah is also a proud Advisory Board Member of StageSource. www.sarah-shin.com She/her/hers.

Rebecca Leu (she/they) is the Development and Communications Associate at Asian Community Development Corporation. Born in Taiwan, she came to the US for college. At Wellesley College, Rebecca led a successful campaign to instate a tenure-track line in Asian American Studies (AAS) – continuing the #FightForAAS that first started decades ago. They are passionate about harnessing people-power and institutional resources to strengthen the community. Prior to joining ACDC, she was at a digital fundraising nonprofit located in Somerville, MA. They are bilingual in English and Mandarin, and is working on her Taiwanese.

Wenxuan Xue
Wenxuan Xue (any pronouns/ta/祂) is a queer migrant artist, teacher, scholar, dramaturg, and a PhD student in Theatre & Performance Studies at Tufts University. They create, support, and research contemporary performances that explore inter-Asian and Asian diasporic migration, race, queer/transness, and ecologies towards collective liberation. Wenxuan’s artistic process centers on nurturing and awakening “the inner child,” who always sees love, tenderness, and kindness in the darkest corners, who is so curious, open, and playful about the world’s beautiful messes, and yet undisciplined to be ruled by norms of gender, borders, and adulthood. Their teaching and research practice is inspired and guided by critical ethnic studies, feminist/queer/trans studies, theatre and performance studies, and environmental humanities. Ta has recently worked with Company One Theatre, Gung Ho Projects, Square Theatre, the Lark, New York Stage and Film, Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, and Ping Pong Productions.

Christina R Chan
Christina R Chan is an actor, playwright and producer. Her writing explores the intersections in Asian American history, racial justice, mental health challenges and gambling addiction in the AAPI community.
During the pandemic, Christina was in Lyric Stage’s audio walking plays Walking It Off and Hummingbird. She was seen on Zoom as Eleanor in Company One Theater’s “DownTown Crossing” by David Valdes. Her favorite roles in person have been An Mei, THE JOY LUCK CLUB (Umbrella Theater, Concord, MA), Ensemble, Wild Swans (American Repertory Theatre, Cambridge, MA), and Comrade Chin/Suzuki, M Butterfly (Vineyard Haven, Martha’s Vineyard, MA).
Christina was a Company One Theater Playwright Fellow and a three-time LAB Grantee.
Her play, Stir Frying Mahjong was a semifinalist for the O’Neill National Theater Conference. She was commissioned by the Chinese Historical Society of New England and ArtsEmerson to adapt a play written by Harry H Dow, the 1st Asian American to pass the Massachusetts’ bar.Her plays have been produced or workshopped at the MFA, ArtsEmerson, Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, Company One Theater, TC2 Theater, Starlight Square, Fresh Ink Theater, and HowlRound. Her work is published in AAPC Anthology I, II, III, IV, & V by in vivo.
Christina is a Co-Founding Member of the Asian American Playwright Collective (AAPC). She received her theater training at Trinity Rep Conservatory, Rhode Island and Royal National Theatre, UK.

Jingwen Zhang (She/Her/Hers) is a bilingual artist working internationally and currently residing in Boston as a Director, Playwright, and Stage and Production Manager. Previous directing credits include The Orphan of Zhao: A Modern Adaption; Love, and Everything Related (virtual production) at CHUANG Lab@Emerson. Stage management credits include A Deal by Zhu Yi (English and Mandarin); The Ghost of Keelung by Jamie Lin at CHUANG Stage; The Flight of a Legless Bird by Ethan Luk at Beijing Prism Theater Festival. Assistant stage management credits include The Colored Museum, Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy at The Umbrella Stage Company. Production assistant credits include Much Ado About Nothing at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company. Jingwen is a graduate of Emerson College (BFA Theatre 22’).

Wisteria Deng (she/her) is the Managing Director of Vermilion Theater. In her second life, she is a PhD candidate in the clinical psychology program at Yale University and a therapist in the Yale Gender Program serving transgender youth. She carries fond memories of the Singapore rain (The Theatre Practice, 2013-2015), the Ann Arbor snow (Thus Spoke Ann Arbor, 2016- 2018) and the Boston potholes (Wuming Drama Club, 2019-2021) in founding Vermilion.
