COVID-19 Updates, Cancellations, and Postponements

Central Square Theater’s Box Office is working remotely but is still able to answer calls and return messages. Updated business hours are Monday through Friday, 12pm to 5pm. Update: April 10, 2020

We have announced the 2020-21 Season. Both Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Ada and the Engine have been moved to next season. Our Patron Services department is in the process of contacting all ticketholders (Subscribers and Single Ticketbuyers) and discussing their options. Update: March 24 2020

Pipeline is now available for streaming! Video stream purchase prices begin at $10. Any payment over $20 will be a tax deductible contribution directly to the Art is Our Activism – Sustain Us Through COVID-19 Campaign. Your purchase of this pre-recorded video stream will help sustain Central Square Theater artists and staff while we are dark.

The recorded stream is hosted on Vimeo and may be accessed via a web browser, many smartphones and tablets, and TV streaming devices. Instructions and resources will be provided in the order confirmation. We are also happy to help answer questions, please contact tickets@centralsquaretheater.org. Update: March 18 2020

We have made the difficult decision to postpone our production of Lauren Gunderson’s Ada and the Engine, originally scheduled for April 9 to May 10, 2020, as well as our Central Square Theater Gala, April 21, 2020.

Our relationship with Lauren began in 2015, with our award-winning production of Emilie: La Marquise Du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight. Since then, she has been one of the most produced playwrights in the country. We look forward to continuing to share her work with you in the future. Stay tuned for our upcoming 2020-21 Season Announcement!

Update: March 13, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Central Square Theater will close the run of Dominique Morisseau’s Pipeline on Sunday, March 15 as a result of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to the health and safety of our patrons, artists, and staff. We are doing our part to flatten the curve in the spread of coronavirus.

Our patron services staff will be reaching out to ticket holders ASAP. Also, we have created a video recording available for streaming. Buy Access to the stream.

All ticket holders (subscriber and single ticket holders) will receive access to the video stream. Please see the FAQ below for more details.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a ticket (single ticket or subscription) to a cancelled performance of Pipeline, what do I do?

Both single ticket holders and subscribers for Pipeline have the following options:

- Exchange (free of charge) to one of the final four performances this weekend.
- Donate the value of their tickets to the theater.
- Receive a credit of the value to use toward a future CST purchase.
- Refund.

I have a tickets to a performance of Ada and the Engine, what do I do?

Subscribers and Single Ticket holders for Ada and the Engine have the following options:

- Receive a credit for the value of your ticket to use toward a future CST purchase. (Ain’t Misbehavin’ or a 2020-21 Season Subscription!)
- Donate the value of your tickets to the theater.
- Refund

I have a subscription package and had not yet booked my ticket for Ada and the Engine, what do I do?

Subscribers who were intending to attend Ada and the Engine, and had not yet booked their tickets, have the following options:

- Use your ticket for Ada and the Engine to attend Ain't Misbehavin' - Bring a friend!
- Receive a credit for the value of your ticket to use toward a future CST purchase. (The Blind Faith Renewal Deadline is March 30!)
- Donate the value of your tickets to the theater.
- Refund
