Act Up & Vote!

Youth Underground (YU) is an ensemble that creates and performs original theater that investigates social issues relevant to young people, and inspires them to make a difference in their communities. Our pieces are created through a series of interviews with the community. In Summer 2018, our interviews centered around Voting and Civic Engagement, and Act Up & Vote! was born. In Summer 2024, the script was updated with additional interviews to discuss the importance of voting in the year’s upcoming election season.

Touring performances of Act Up & Vote!:

• Are performed by YU Ambassadors (ages 19-25)
• Run approximately 45 minutes, including the play and an interactive discussion between the performers and the audience
• Can take place at Central Square Theater in Cambridge, or at your site
• Are available Fall 2024

Are best suited for students in grades 9 – 12
