Ryan Began

Ryan Began (Assistant Director) has worked on various productions, most recently directing James and the Giant Peach and teaching for the Boston Children’s Theatre. Other credits include Mortal Terror (Boston Playwrights’ Theatre), Niobe: Queen of Thebes (Boston Early Music Festival), and Animal Crackers (Lyric Stage Company). At Suffolk University, he directed two one-act plays and assistant directed various productions, including Blood Wedding, The Green Bird, Into the Woods, Forever, Briefly (a collection of Thornton Wilder’s one-act plays), and the student production of Car Talk: The Musical!!! He holds a BA in Theatre Arts, Directing from Suffolk University.

Michelle Chassé

Michelle Chassé trained with Maestro Vincenzo Celli and Boston Ballet School, and she was on scholarship at the School of American Ballet in New York City. She graduated cum laude with a BFA in Dance Performance from The Boston Conservatory, where she was the first recipient of the prestigious Ruth Sandholm Ambrose Award. She has studied and performed with ballet, concert dance, and Broadway legends from around the world. She has choreographed numerous musical theater productions at The Boston Conservatory, including its recent critically acclaimed productions of Candide, The Wild Party, and Kismet. Additionally, she has performed, choreographed, and directed for the nationally recognized Boston Gay Men’s Chorus. She has also directed and choreographed for the Boston Pops. She is a faculty member at The Boston Conservatory, where she serves as Dance Instructor, Resident Choreographer, Musical Theater Dance Coordinator, and Director of the Musical Theater Dance Intensive.

Scott Nicholas

Scott Nicholas has performed in Europe, Latin America, and throughout the United States. Locally, Mr. Nicholas has appeared all over the New England region in solo and chamber performances. He has been heard on WGBH Boston and has been the rehearsal and performance pianist for groups and events including the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, the Boston Pops, Minnesota Opera, Boston Lyric Opera’s outreach program, E.C. Schirmer’s Philovox Ensemble, The Boston Conservatory’s Summer Choral Festival, The Concord Women’s Chorus, The Bostonians, Chorus Pro Musica, and the Leyontene Vocal Arts Competition. Scott Nicholas has been music director for performances at the Franklin Performing Arts Company, Suffolk University, and the New England Conservatory. He received his BA in Music Education from The College of New Jersey, earned an MM from the New England Conservatory in Accompanying/Vocal Coaching, and is on the faculty of Emerson College and Suffolk University.

Michael Wartofsky

Michael Wartofsky Music/lyrics: The Man In My Head (New York Musical Theater Festival 2006 starring Darius de Haas) and Running Back, co-written with Marcus Gardley (2010 NAMT showcase; New Dramatist Benefit 2011). Composer: Boston 2012 premiere of Cupcake at Boston’s Club Café featuring Karen MacDonald (lyrics: David Reiffel; book: Bradley Seeman). For North Shore Music Theater, Michael composed The Navigator and Friendship of the Sea (book/lyrics: Kathleen Cahill). The Broadway Boys regularly perform “Possibilities,” and many have performed Michael’s songs at Birdland, the Triad, Joe’s Pub, and Berklee College. He is a professor at Berklee College and adjunct faculty/alumnus at NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program

Michael Carey

Michael Carey appears in performance of classical, jazz, musical theater, rock, and world music. He toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and has played with popular bands including The Crystals, The Platters, and Phil Woods. Last Spring, he played Car Talk: The Musical!!! for Suffolk University. He has played woodwinds for shows such as Hair, Into the Woods, 42nd Street, Stardust, Guys and Dolls, among others. He also has played on several Holland America and Seabourn cruise ships in nine countries. He studied with Lynn Klock, Jeff Holmes, and Yusef Lateef.
