Gloria Swansong

Gloria Swansong is a costume designer and NYC’s Old Hollywood queen and premiere Judy Garland impersonator. Originally from Nashville, Gloria blends glamor, history, and emotion into raw powerhouse lipsyncs, while Daniele creates Gloria's closet with meticulous research and making skills. Gloria is the current reigning Miss Hell’s Kitchen, benefiting Cycle for a Cause and has a weekly drag appearances in NYC. In addition to drag and custom commissions, Gloria balances a very full costume design schedule, working both in NYC and regionally, and also is adjunct faculty at NYU Tisch. Design credits include Hamlet, Oedipus, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Engaging Shaw, Pericles, and Mary's Wedding (APT); I Am My Own Wife (Long Wharf); Trans Scripts: the Women Part I (ART); NYU’s New Musical Workshops (2017-2019); The Good God Brown, The Wiz, Charbrier’s L’étoile, Arcadia, King Lear, Fences, NYC Trans Theatre Festival. In addition to designing theatre Gloria writes/performs solo plays about gender, identity and authenticity.
